The Social influences of Anime and Game Conventions
Each year during September, the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta Georgia holds an
event called Anime Weekend Atlanta. For three days, people of all ages and ethnicity gather
together to celebrate and partake in events influenced by Japan's ever growing anime and
video game culture. During these three days I have watched the "congoers" interact with each
